Betti Pot

Does cold and flu season have you feeling less than stellar? Are your indoor allergies worse at this time of year when your house is all sealed up? If so, you should try a neti pot! A neti pot is “a container designed to rinse the nasal cavity”, according to Dr. James T. Li of the Mayo Clinic. You fill a neti pot with warm salt water (saline), place the spout in your nostril and gently pour in the water while your head is tilted over a sink. As you pour, the water will flow through your nasal cavity and out the other nostril. You repeat on the other side to clear the nasal passages and sinuses. We know it sounds kind of weird, but it really works! Our favorite neti pot is the Betti Pot, which comes in lots of colors and feels somehow cooler than other neti’s (considering it’s a nasal teapot). Betti pots are 100% made in the USA with eco-friendly porcelain, food-grade ceramic glaze and minimal, 100% post-consumer recycled packaging materials. It’s even microwave and dishwasher safe! Designed by eco-chick and yogi Isabella Jones, the Betti pot isn’t just a must-have for allergy sufferers and people with chronic sinus problems. According to Isabella, “Cleaning the sinus is like washing the hands or brushing the teeth– it feels good immediately and it promotes and sustains good health and hygiene. It is easy, it feels refreshing, better oxygen, no more bugs in nose (ugh) and it reduces under eye swelling (bags) and discoloration. Not to mention that is will prevent illness from airborne viruses, and speed up recovery if you get sick.” How cool is that? Lately, over-the-counter nasal sprays have been in the news for causing loss of smell, and people overdose or become sick from other cold meds all the time. There’s no such thing as overdoing it with a neti pot — in fact, the more you use it, the better you feel!
Give Betti Pot a try this season to help you stay healthy or get healthy without the use of medications. Sure, it might seem a little funny at first, but it really works.
