orange you glad?

Well, here’s something a-”peel”-ing! Besides being a great addition to your compost heap, the orange peel is actually highly flammable and can be used as your next firestarter or kindling on your camping trip. The oil inside a dried orange peel contains things like limonene, citral, and oily terpenes, all of which are are flammable organic compounds.

If you don’t feel particularly pyro, go Martha Stewart on your peel by mixing pieces with fresh cinnamon sticks, cloves, and dried cockscomb flowers for a tangy homemade potpourri, perfect for the bathroom or musty closet.
