| The Ecoholic by Adria Vasil |

Adria Vasil, the “ecoholic” writes a popular column in Toronto’s weekly NOW Magazine. She makes a living by answering reader’s questions, however strange they may be, about how to live a more eco-friendly life. Her new book Ecoholic: Your guide to the most environmentally friendly information, products and services in Canada serves her tips straight up. She’s not afraid to tell the truth about all the harmful toxins in our daily products and lives, and she’s able to tell it like it is in a charismatic, yet scientifically informed way. She’s got a hint of hippie in her, but her book is geared towards stylish urbanites who like to be informed. The title says the book is written by and for Canadians, but inside the facts and tips are universal. Many of her product and service recommendations are available online, or, with a little luck, you can find local alternatives in your area.
Adria talks about everything that affects your daily life and your environment, from cosmetics and clothing, to pharmaceuticals and sex. Like we said, she’s not afraid to deal with the hard questions. She gives a lot of glowing recommendations for green products and companies, but she’ll just as easily slam an industry or a particular company for their eco or social malpractices if they’ve got it coming.
We love the Ecoholic (the book and the persona) because she is smart, feisty, and definitely sexy. Check Adria out at www.ecoholic.ca.
