July’s Product of the Month: Method Flushable Wipes

Method Flushable Wipes

Method products are a major favorite of ours at green is sexy. Not only are Method products free of chemicals and Earth-hating toxins, but they are prettily packaged, smell amazing and work wonders in every room of the house. We also support Method because by purchasing Renewable Energy Credits and Forest Sequestration Offsets, Method will reduce CO2 emissions by about 532 metric tons every year. This is enough to offset method’s entire estimated carbon footprint for its business operations. Method is easy to find and easy on your wallet. Your French Lavender floor cleaner will cost you the same amount as that bald guy, but you’ll feel a little less guilty when you dump the dirty water down the drain.

Our favorite Method product these days are the Method Flushable Wipes in Eucalyptus Mint scent. These yummy smelling wipes are great for quick, multi-surface cleaning in your house or car, but since it’s summer, we find that we’ve been using them more for us than for the kitchen. Since these wipes are non-toxic, they’re safe for people too! We’ve found they’re perfect for wiping down sticky picnic hands and yucky park toilets. Technically, these are bathroom cloths, so you won’t want to use them on your eyes or your other delicate bits, but we keep a pack in the car for cleaning up dirty flip-flop feet and for quick beach-to-party cleanup. We also keep a pack in the car for cleaning up dirty flip-flop feet and for a quick beach-to-party cleanup. Imagine if your mom had kept these babies in her purse — she wouldn’t have used her spit-shined thumb to clean the ice-cream from your cheek! We love these wipes and think you will too. I am proud to announce I purchased my very first preserve toothbrush today went to a party last night and ended up getting addresses to send to some “new friends” (perhaps toothbrushes could become a substitute for phone numbers “No, I never want to go on a date with you but how about a yogurt cup toothbrush?”) And now Eucalyptus mint flushable wipes here I come! Keep up the good work girls!

Method is an awesome line of “’round the house” goodies. They cost the same as any other brand (okay, maybe sometimes a little bit more:)), but you feel better about using them. They break the mold of ‘good for the planet’ household cleaners. I’ll be sure to grab a pack of the eucalyptus flushable wipes… Now that I am a new mother, I am always looking for things that are safe for the planet but REALLY convenient to use when out and about. Thanks ladies! Keep up the fabulous work!!!!

I love these wipes.. and I love how you can get them at Shoppers Drug Mart right in St.T with no running to London to special stores for these products. It’s great. I am tring my best to be green- and it’s not as hard as I thought!

I am a fan… I forgot the number of wipes that end up in landfills every year, but it’s ridiculous! Run one of these biodegradable babies around the sink & toilet every morning on your way out the door, and you will always come home to a sparkling, sweet-smelling bathroom. Ahh…

i love these wipes - they’re great, especially since i have a 3 year old little boy running around, i don’t want to use anything that could be toxic. in the states they carry them at target, at least the one in l.a., they’re cheap and smell great too. i love all of their products - my house is stocked with them!

Method makes a great product line…we love their wipes and carry them with us when we travel…airplanes are pretty gross–so are hotel television remote controls!

We love your site too…and urge people to not only think big and green, but think local. To green the earth we might want to start by cleaning our own backyards and city streets.

Keep up the great material…and yes, Green is Sexy.

So here’s a stupid question: Are there any products like this that are cool to use on skin? I’m looking for an eco-alternative to standard baby wipes but haven’t had much luck.

PS: I love your site (found it from GreenAsAThistle.com) and have really enjoyed some of your features. Thanks for taking the time to share all these cool things with the world.

These products are amazing- they are exclusive to Shoppers Drug mart, because they make the brand, sort of like life brand- the furniture wipes are amazing and now we only use these cleaners in our stores while we are cleaning- the smell is great and the cleaning power is unbelievable!

I have these & I love them. As a gal with hyper-sensitive skin, anything that is not going to make me break out in hives is wonderful. They’re great for quick clean ups in the bathroom & its fantastic that they’re flushable.
Although they’re great & convienent, try to use a spray cleanser (eco-friendly of course) and a microfiber towel that you can reuse over and over again.

The best product is the one that is not used. No need to buy these wipes, just have always a piece of cloth (handkerchief, servillet, etc.) and clean everything with it. Afterwards, wash it and re use it.
The problem with so called first world countries is that people in them consume so much, that even when they want to be and think they are being earth friendly sometimes they are not! I was shocked by the amount of waste I saw living in Canada… I just couldn´t believe it.
The problem with so called developing countries is lack of consciousness and lack of public policys to deal with waste, and recycling waste. But surely and fortunately we waste less than in other places.
Enviromentally speaking, the poorer, the better. Give people a little bit of confort and they become spoiled, like a spoiled child who wants everything he sees on TV. I can´t wait to see human kind to became adult.
