It’s pretty straight forward – dioxins, chemicals formed during the chlorine bleaching process, contaminate groundwater and air and are linked to cancer in humans and animals.  There are alternatives out there to avoid these nasty chemicals.  Look for washable cloth coffee filters or unbleached paper filters.  Unbleached options are also available for sanitary napkins, toilet paper and tissues.
